What are your travel plans for 2024?

My type of trip! We actually have a few pre-planned locations, but we don’t have much planned in between them. Leaving mid June headed (gradually) to a UTV trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon after Independence Day (NFS dispersed), then a week at a campground in southern Utah for more UTV...

Tiffin Phaeton Rear Coach Sag Problems

That makes sense. Take it to Red Bay then and get it done right. Note you can’t make an appointment for most work at the factory service center, so check the process out. There is a FB page “Red Bay Roll Call” with lots of info about both the area, the service center, and other vendors. It is a...

Tiffin Phaeton Rear Coach Sag Problems

It happens on some Tiffins of that era. The nickname is “butt sag”. If you live near Red Bay, AL and the unit is a good price, you might consider it. I would definitely call Tiffin directly for pricing though since $700 sounds really low. And if the other rig you are looking at doesn’t have the...

    What's missing from this forum?

I have owned a wide variety of campers/RVs. We started in tents and we hauled our gear in a tiny Harbor Freight trailer. We then moved to pop ups of various sizes as our family grew and then decreased. After that came hard sided trailers varying from a Trail Manor to a Forest River to a Casita...

    What's missing from this forum?

I had a Forest River trailer many moons ago, but I did hear about FROG (Forest River Owners Group for those of you who don’t look things up). Then again, I am inveterate researcher about rigs so I am sure I found info about it online.

    Best internet?

Welcome to the forum. Your answer depends on location. For many people a hot spot or their phone works, assuming you have a lot of data on your plan. The RV organization FMCA has some hot spot plans that provide a lot of data, but they are carrier specific. No matter what carrier you have, there...

solar generator or 2nd lithium or both or neither?

Glad you got things working, though I would check why your inverter shuts off at 70%. That doesn’t even make a lot of sense with lead acid let alone lithium. Check if there is a programmable setting to change that.

    What's missing from this forum?

A rally doesn’t have to have 20 rigs to be an RV Forum rally. There is the option for a poster to say “I am going to be at location X for event Y. Come join me if you want.” Those are known as mini-rallies, and they happen. For example, I love the Death Valley National Park Dark Sky Festival...

    Golf Carts on City Streets

We have a side by side (SXS), and it is so handy when we can ride it on street! Note my own town doesn’t allow it, but Arizona, where we spend most of the winter, does allow street legal SXSs. We have windshield, lights front and rear, lighted license plate, rear view and side mirrors. We have...

    How safe are your passwords?

My main email account and an old password is on the dark web. I am enrolled in an identify protection program because my data was part of the Office of Personnel Management data breach quite a few years ago. I still get occasional notices that someone tried to sign in to accounts that have...

Our Electric indoor Galleria Li3, and making Coffee?

Agree this topic really doesn’t have anything to do with electric vehicles. But to continue the discussion, some things are too important to be cheap on. After years of making coffee every way except with pods, we just use a fabulous espresso machine. Grinds the beans, heats the water, makes the...

    No More Roaming For TMHI

I don’t know where the 5GB number came from. The updated plans have a lot more.

    What's with vibrato?

When I took voice lessons in college, we began by concentrating on pure sounds without vibrato. We received worse grades if we used vibrato. Later classes added in vibrato, but I never got that far as a non-major who just liked to sing. Untrained singers who want to sound like pop stars...

    Motor home size considerations

Drop the big MH at the campground and take the tow to small sites. We did that even with a tiny 17’ Casita, and we still do it with a 40’ MH.

Driver's Door: Could you live without it?

Very few diesels have driver’s side doors, and they aren’t terribly common even among gassers. We never had one, and we never missed it. I like having real steps open up when I open up the MH door rather than clambering out using molded footholds.
