I don’t know. It doesn’t now. Why would it then.
The cheapest place will always be charging at home. But even on the more expensive DC fast chargers it’s not that bad. Competition will affect things. Those who charge to much just won’t get much business. That already happens now.
😂 You would be surprised how often that happens. Usually because of bad weather or too many freakin tourists. 😂. Longest wait we had was 6 hours ago 2 years ago. But we had the trailer in tow so I went for a nap. This is the Tsawwassen ferry crossing. You'll know when you see that sign. I think...
No. I think North American V4’s are still 250 kw. I read something about why that is but can’t remember. Whatever it is apparently it will be awhile before we crank it up here.
That’s 225 kw. That’s already old news. Current superchargers are already at 250 kw for V3 and 350 kw for V4. The tesla semi charging units are at 1 MW.
We routinely hit 250 kw during the first few minutes of a charge if the battery is fairly low.
Perspective I guess. We went from a Jeep grand Cherokee to a Tesla model Y. There was literally nothing better about the Jeep grand Cherokee. It was more expensive to buy, more expensive to operate and more expensive to maintain. It was also not near as comfortable or convenient in winter. Not...
The cab companies up here tend to run 2014 to 2017 model S’s with free supercharging. Many have north of 400,000 kilometres on their original batteries. Cash machines.
Up here in BC solar carports are gaining some popularity. Most have limited storage of around 3 to 5 kWh and are generally an L1 or low L2 charge so the car needs to be under the carport when it’s sunny. Some have them at home but they are also popular at work locations. It will be interesting...
Two points I’ll disagree with.
Range anxiety. Doesn’t exist with modern EV’s. Range anxiety was a term coined by GM to scare people away from EV’s. I can read a gauge. I’ve never had range anxiety and we have driven all over Canada and parts of the US. This may be model dependant though...
We typically trade every 4 or 5 years…so lots. 😂. Thinking of keeping the tesla for longer though. It gets an update every month or so. Still like a new car as it is constantly changing and improving. It does so much more than when we bought it. First car to do that.
.
We carry a bunch of adapters, but primarily for camp ground charging when we are camping and touring. Handy.
Our most used adapter by far is the TT30 adapter.
Chinese manufacturers need a Mexican factory presence to break into the North American market in a serious way. That may take a few years. It will give some of the other manufacturers time to regroup…but it won’t take long.
