It may be a subscription feature.
I have long been a subscriber of the Times News site (Not the games) but recently they sent me an offer in which I could add the games to my subscription at the same monthly cost I pay now without the games.
So, now a number of "features" are showing that I never noticed before. One is the History of some of the games, like Wordle.
