The bride and I will be in West Yelowstone this August, and would like to do a quick 3-4 day stay in Glacier.

Any suggestions where to stay, and what to see.  I would like to fish, any suggestions guides or streams....

Next year will be a 7day stay...

Thanks

Jim

There are several river guides out of Kalispell that fish the North Fork and do quite well.

I have always gone with my friend who lives there and we always catch fish....I can't recommend any in particular but you need to float the river to do any serious fishing on the rivers there.

Of course Flathead lake is right near by and there are a ton of lake trout in there, but again you need a boat and guide to do any good.

Enjoy Glacier and the area, it is one of my favorite places.

Last August wife and I fished the streams on the west side of Glacier in ht epark.  Lots of small cutts on dry flies a lot of fun and not license or guide needed

Our family visited both parks 3 years ago and really liked Glacier more. Less people and amazing landscape.

I hope you bride likes fishing too

I like your thinking!!!!!!!

I am going to hire a guide in Yellowstone for a float trip.  I bring the fly rod the bride brings the camera.  The first time (if I catch one) catch a fish hoping she will want to try it.  If not she will get a boat ride down the snake river.

We have an agreement, she lets me go fishing, and we go into the city for a play dinner and shopping at least twice a year.

The secret is I like to do both. Fish and the city.
