I have read threads and posts from last year indicating I-70 west of Denver is in very bad condition with massive potholes while climbing 7 and 8% grades. With all the road improvements I have seen being made during the last couple of years, I'm wondering if this highway has had any improvements. I'll be driving from St. Louis to Loveland in the middle of September, going to RMNP for three days before heading to Moab, UT. I'm running a twenty-year-old gasser that has done very well in the Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho Rockies, but I've never taken the Colorado Rockies and don't know what to expect. I'm used to slowing down to 20 mph on rough grades because I won't push the engine or transmission, and am trying to determine if I'm going to have any problems now that I'll have 80,000 miles on the coach by the time we get to Colorado. We flat tow an Equinox, and I can detach for the drive through Colorado if necessary.
