According to the web site the A/C is 13,500 BTU, so you'll probably want a 2500 watt or greater, maybe even a bit higher if you want to run it at higher altitudes, such as in the Rockies. A word of caution: don't get a construction type (open frame) generator, as they are LOUD and not only make you a poor neighbor, but you may want to be several hundred feet from them yourself. So an inverter generator from Honda, Yamaha, Champion or similar would probably be the ticket.

Another word of caution: in comparing sound level specs the distance at which the sound was measured is as important as the number of dB, since the sound level varies as the square of the distance.

And finally, if you expect to run the microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, etc. at the same time, you may need to go even bigger, since they, too, draw quite a bit of juice. So you'll first want to determine what MIGHT run at the same time before deciding on the size.

Thanks for your information! I am looking at a champion generator that is not in the cage.. you have reaffirmed what I thought. now just to buy one and go have fun camping!!
