I was working while all this was going on and I was BSing with cops from the SF Homicide Division. They said LA screwed up the case big time, doing everything wrong on this case. They said what happened in LA would not have happened in San Francisco, with the mishandling of evidence and such.Note I am not saying he did it or didn't do it, I am just saying the state screwed up the case and failed to prove he did it beyond a reasonable doubt.
Hard to say if that would make any difference in the verdict. But it would not have been nearly as easy for the defense to make their case.
