Has anyone replaced a water valve on a Thetford type 2 toilet? Is it easier in the long run to replace the toilet or the valve?

Last year I needed to replace the seal on my thetford style II plastic/porcelin toilet. I found the whole base all together, seal, water valve, all together for 75.00 at walmart, online. Shipping was very fast

My old camper toilet started leaking from where the bowl and pedestal meet. Search and internal label said do not separate. Was surprised to see how inexpensive they were. That's why I aked this question.
Thanks

Mine is an aqua magic style II and base separates from bowl. When I worked on mine last year I had priced a toilet seal from local rv store. I bought base cheaper than I could have bought seal only

I replaced the ball valve, complete water valve assembly, and the base and ball valve seals in my Style Plus yesterday. Total time was only about 30 minutes even with my physical limitations.
