I was wrong in one of my earlier comments about antibiotics for dental work after a knee replacement. Kevin needs to take antibiotics the day before and for a full week afterwards, not just a day.

Kevin is still taking antibiotics before dental visits. His ortho recommended to continue at least 2 years post surgery, and the doctor noted some people do it for a lot longer than that. In his case it is a couple of pills before the appointment and one after.

Who has been in your rig since the last time you dumped?

I was an American Canoe Association instructor for a number of years. Among my friends who canoe a lot there is 100% PFD use. We know what can happen and how fast it can happen. It is the amateurs who go out once every year or two for a couple of hours who don’t wear PFDs.

Kevin got his done 1 1/2 years ago, a full knee replacement. He was walking without a cane at a week, and has full ROM. Doc said he was a model patient, and credited it to PT before surgery (strong quad), not waiting too long, and being a candidate for PT patient of the year. And let’s face it...

Good job. We have to dump and get fresh water after 9-10 days but that is with 2 of us and wanting daily showers. I agree this is the perfect time of year for solar though. Not too hot yet, but high angle sun and longer days.
