Butter Recall

They DO say "contains milk," so they're not the recalled ones. I looked at ours and it says about the same except that it also lists milk as an ingredient. Costco here this morning had LOTS of that butter available, not recalled.

According to one web article the plant that goofed is in Texas, and once on TV and once on the web I saw mention that primary distribution of this "bad" product is in Texas.

This thread reminds me of a news broadcast item yesterday (Ok there's a punch line)
The news clip was a human interest item technically and a psa as well. They were talking about a veteran who was having a hard time till his service Dog Whiskey came into his life. and not thanks to Whiskey he's doing much better.

So.. what does that have to do with this thread? Whiskey's full name is:
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Yup. recalling butter because the "Contains milk" is not clearly visible... Definitely a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot item.

The flaw in your argument is this recall began in early October.
I stand corrected. I did not mean you were trolling, but the Butter inspection person was. But on seeing the actual date, I now think it must be a thing or regulation. As you are correct, I saw November 8th and stopped due to posted advertisements. When returning to the link, I noticed that it started in October. I did think someone here in the group produced a clever idea (that was to add a STAMP). Oh well, thanks for the heads-up.

Thankfully, the FDA will either disappear or become so small you can barely see it.
Then we get raw milk and can make our own butter, can't wait.
From the FDA:

FDA's responsibilities are ever growing and more complex due to advances in food and medical product technology, global supply chains, and artificial intelligence. The FY 2024 budget provides a $7.2 billion total program level for FDA.

you'd be shaking your brains out on the milk they would give you trying to make butter.
back when I lived at home we had a jersey cow (blossom) and all the store bought butter is trash compared to what we made from her milk.

I heard that Werner, a manufacturer of ladders, has announced that they will stop production of their popular 2 foot step ladders because there isn't enough surface area available for all the safety stickers needed to fend off the ambulance chasers.
The problem is the "Stop Here" sticker has to be on the second step below the top of the ladder. Can't do that on a 2 step ladder.

We do too - and our newest batch bought just last week is the same except they have large stickers on the packages that say CONTAINS MILK.

...how stupid.
They had to do that. There are sue happy lawyers out there that will find any excuse to the blame the manufacturer. People with allergies to milk products, or any other allergen, need to read the ingredients labels! It's not the fault of the maker, it's the person buying the product not doing their homework.

I'm going to Costco customer service to ask for my stickers. My beautiful wife always has about 15 pounds in the freezer.
It will make Betty Botter's bitter batter better.

Bingo. Easy to blame politicians or manufacturers when at the heart of most all of these seemingly ridiculous regs are legions of attorneys searching for, as you say, "any excuse" to litigate.

Blame also lies with the citizens who are more than willing to go along with these sleezebags to enrich themselves.

Aldi runs a special every year on butter at Thanksgiving time. Last year it was $1.99 a pound, with a limit of 6 pounds per shopper per trip.

This year's deal: $3.49 a pound, with a limit of 6 per shopper per trip.

Oh my goodness, WHY such an increase?

I understand the egg price rise: All the chickens died from the flu and there is only one chicken working these days.

Lordy............
