    Dead discussions?

It's supposed to have a box stating "you are here" but it didn't resize very well. I do have a passing interest...

    Dead discussions?

Not sure where to post this; another forum I'm on has a message that shows on the "reply" box for old discussions. Basically it just reminds the reader that the discussion died some time back, there have been no updates, and asks if the comment adds enough to the conversation to resurrect it...

Trains, Difference Between Europe and The US

Remembering Pusher Ross from the old Gary Cooper movie Sgt York. That was how he got his name.

    Solar Power Efficacy?

Where did you find drawer slides that long? You using LFP batteries or the regular Li? Definitely post the article.

Trains, Difference Between Europe and The US

Yea, I regret not getting a Eurorail pass when I was there but in my defense I got caught up in a RIF and discharged before completing my term. I had 30 days leave and a couple grand saved up to tour around Europe... and was close to finding a "traveling companion". (We started dating just...

Trains, Difference Between Europe and The US

My limited experience (living in Germany three years... during Regan) is that Europe, or at least Germany is you can get around OK without a car, but not so much in the US. Some things may have changed since then... I took a train from near Trier to Frankfort; learned real quick the train does...

Me too; lot of good information here. I'm going to have to fall back and rethink things a bit..

    Solar Power Efficacy?

Does the generator interact with the power management system or do you have to start manually as required? I was unaware of the telescoping/nesting panels, that changes things a bit.

    Solar Power Efficacy?

Yea, I was tinkering with the idea of off grid some years ago (just the idea...) and realized it is a life style change. Figured that would have some impact on RVs solar too. Too, I keep thinking about the roof size paradox; more panels need more roof but more roof means bigger RV with usually...

    Solar Power Efficacy?

How effective are solar electrical systems in RVs? Presume they work best with a correctly sized generator for back up. Are they worth it or should I save the weight for more propane to power the generator? I presume the batteries can also be charged from the tow vehicle while driving...

    Confused...

So in conversations with a few different RV manufacturers, the sales people told me their product was not designed for temperatures below freezing; that's what I have to go on. I did see one that claimed it could handle a Wisconsin winter but was pricey. I've found a few that fit my...

    Confused...

The weather conditions in some areas of our country can change quickly. I don't want to alter travel or risk damage to the RV because I got briefly stuck somewhere. Too, our Texas winters don't last long but can persist for a week w/o getting above freezing. It also bothers me that I can't...

    Confused...

Just figured it would be less drag towing off road. Less chance of bogging or getting stuck in sand or mud. Little more stability with a flat.

    Confused...

Been looking at RV models, features, styles, capabilities, etc. for a while now. An interesting trend I've noticed is most seem to be three season, else I've been looking in the wrong places. Is it the cost of making one winter proof? I did run into one that boasted it could handle a...
